IN THE BEGINNING...
Down South Surf was born out of a love for beach life, with both
founders growing up on the water - albeit in completely different ways.
James grew up along the coast in South Africa, spending as much time as he could at the beach, and developing a life-long love of surfing.
Amanda grew up spending summers at her family's cottage in Muskoka, Canada. This meant every summer was filled with swimming, tubing, wakeboarding and fishing.
After meeting while both were overseas for work, the couple got married, started their family and settled down in the Midland, Ontario area of Canada.
After many years in other industries, both felt that something was missing from their lives - the beach culture they had grown up with.
Wanting to bring more of the beach into their lives (and to everyone else's lives too!) Down South Surf was born.
Knowing that the oceans and lakes they grew up with were under threat and may not be there for their children and grandchildren to enjoy, James and Amanda also made a commitment to give back.
As a result, a donation is made to charities fighting to protect our waterways with every sale, and all orders are packed plastic-free and with the most eco-friendly packaging available.
James and Amanda are proud of
what Down South Surf is achieving, and hope you’ll join them in keeping
our beaches beautiful for generations to come.
